چکیده

We consider a family of linear control systems ẋ = Ax+αBu where α belongs to a given class of persistently exciting signals. We seek maximal α-uniform stabilisation and destabilisation by means of linear feedbacks u = Kx. We extend previous results obtained for bidimensional singleinput linear control systems to the general case as follows: if the pair (A,B) verifies a certain Lie bracket generating condition, then the maximal rate of convergence of (A,B) is equal to the maximal rate of divergence of (−A,−B). We also provide more precise results in the general single-input case, where the above result is obtained under the sole assumption of controllability of the pair (A,B).

Stabilization of persistently excited linear systems by delayed feedback laws

This paper considers the stabilization to the origin of a persistently excited linear system by means of a linear state feedback, where we suppose that the feedback law is not applied instantaneously, but after a certain positive delay (not necessarily constant). The main result is that, under certain spectral hypotheses on the linear system, stabilization by means of a linear delayed feedback ...

On-line Parameter Estimation for Infinite-dimensional Dynamical Systems∗

The on-line or adaptive identification of parameters in abstract linear and nonlinear infinite-dimensional dynamical systems is considered. An estimator in the form of an infinitedimensional linear evolution system having the state and parameter estimates as its states is defined. Convergence of the state estimator is established via a Lyapunov estimate. The finite-dimensional notion of a plant...

Identification of nonlinear systems with non-persistent excitation using an iterative forward orthogonal least squares regression algorithm

A new iterative orthogonal least squares forward regression (iOFR) algorithm is proposed to identify nonlinear systems which may not be persistently excited. By slightly revising the classic forward orthogonal regression (OFR) algorithm, the new iterative algorithm provides search solutions on a global solution space. Examples show that the new iterative algorithm is computationally efficient a...

Dynamic Stability Analysis of a Beam Excited by a Sequence of Moving Mass Particles

In this paper, the dynamic stability analysis of a simply supported beam carrying a sequence of moving masses is investigated. Many applications such as motion of vehicles or trains on bridges, cranes transporting loads along their span, fluid transfer pipe systems and the barrel of different weapons can be represented as a flexible beam carrying moving masses. The periodical traverse of masses...

Adaptive linear quadratic control using policy iteration - American Control Conference, 1994

In this paper we present stability and convergence results for Dynamic Programming-based reinforcement learning applied to Linear Quadratic Regulation (LQR). The specific algorithm we analyze is based on Q-learning and it is proven to converge to the optimal controller provided that the underlying system is controllable and a particular signal vector is persistently excited. This is the first c...
